Anime Midwest 2023 Convention: Rosemont, Illinois
The link above grants access to all the photos I took over the 3-day convention weekend with people that posed for/with me in exchange for a ONE-WEEKEND-ONLY promotion with my newest book's cover.
There were far TOO many pictures and videos taken to have uploaded them all BUT it was magnificent! And the sad thing is, as much as I walked around and saw, I know I missed a TON because of all the panels and side-rooms with beautiful cosplay characters that I didn't get to interact with.
This was my FIRST anime convention in my life and it was a 10/10 in my personal, unbiased opinion. Everyone was friendly, had great vibes, and I felt -so- in my zone. While I spent most of my time promoting my newest book, Victim of Circumstance: Moonlit Plum Blossom, I got to experience everything from arcade video games, to food trucks, to live music, an ENTIRE vendor section, and even a Nerdlesque Show.
That's right-- hot fictional characters working their talents across the stage in an aliens & monsters burlesque show (adults only and no photography was allowed). Every year they do different themes and they WILL be back again with NEW character tropes bringing a whole new meaning to the word FREAKY.
We got to meet everyone after the show at the tables they were selling and signing merc-- I got a sexy shirt in black instead of white not thinking about how the signatures was going to show up. :( I will forever be too afraid to wear this shirt because at some point it will need to get washed.
In a frame it goes XD
I was so star-struck after having seen such a great show that I completely forgot to ask them if I could take photos with them in the lobby (it was EXTREMELY crowded so I may have been rejected anyways LOL) .
***heart throb to Loki and Bowser***
EVERYONE performed with excellence but I was truly honored that I got to see my favorite mischievous god do a tantalizing fan dance after my favorite Mario character danced his heart out with emotions I never would've seen elsewhere.
Needless to say, I wish I wasn't so stunned that I got it together and networked with the troupe and the amazing ladies that let me sit in the front row, slightly off-center stage with them.
I wouldn't have such a great memory burned in my brain if it wasn't for them . So, thank you!!
--if you ever see this, contact me. You gave me an unforgettable experience that I will never forget due to your kindness!
